Iosif Rayhelgauz is a famous director, one of the most respected representatives of the Russian theater, the creator and artistic director of the theater "School of Modern Play", People’s Artist of Russia, author of many books, professor of GITIS, member of the public council of the Russian Jewish Congress. He has taught at prestigious universities, theater and film schools in the USA, Switzerland, Israel, Italy, and France. In the spring of 2022, he was fired from the theater he created for his anti-war views.

Iosif Rayhelgauz began his theatrical career in the early 70s of the last century as a stage director at the Sovremennik Theater in Moscow. To date, he has performed dozens of theatrical and television productions around the world, including in the theaters "Gabima" (Israel), "Koruzh" (Switzerland), "La Mama" (USA), "Kenter" (Turkey). He conducted an author’s program on the Echo of Moscow radio station until its very closure.

In Prague, Iosif Leonidovich will present his author’s program "The director is to blame for everything." He is a wonderful storyteller and a master of theatrical tales, the favorite genre of avid theatergoers. Funny situations that you can’t think of on purpose and meetings with amazing people. But this evening the audience will find not only entertaining stories, but also poems, and possibly songs performed by Iosif Rayhelgauz.
