On January 6th, we invite you to the annual Christmas meeting in Berlin with the participation of political scientist Ekaterina Shulman and literary critic Armen Zakharyan. The moderator is journalist Maxim Kournikov.
This time, the theme of the meeting will be one of the most famous fairy tales — the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Where does this myth of transformation and compassion come from? How has it changed over time — from folk tales to philosophical and cinematic interpretations — and why does it continue to worry us today? What is his contribution to the ideas of good and evil, inner and outer beauty, and why do we come back to him again and again in search of an answer to the question: what makes a person human?
In the second part of the evening, the speakers will answer questions from the audience, and after the meeting they will sign books.
