Big talk about movies with Anton Dolin. For the first time in Dublin. Mission Impossible: How does cinema try to save the world from repression, injustice and war?On June 9, Dublin will host
a unique event — a lecture by renowned film critic, journalist and publicist
Anton Dolin. The theme of the meeting is "The Big Conversation about Cinema", but this time the conversation promises to be
especially sharp, intense and perhaps apocalyptic. The lecture will
center on cinema’s attempt to respond to
the global challenges of our time. Who really fights evil — superheroes, special agents, clones or monsters? Why are
Hollywood and art house fighting on the same front? And
is it possible to resist violence, injustice and repression with the help of cinematography?
Anton Dolin will discuss how
world cinema — from the Oscars to Cannes — is becoming
a space of resistance and hope, as well as talk about
contemporary directors and films that seek not just to entertain, but to change the world.A warm atmosphere, intellectual provocation and a powerful charge of movie motivation are expected.
The event will be held in Russian.Save the date.
