Fashion is akin to art, and therefore in fashion, as in other forms of art, there are many hidden layers and secrets. All great couturiers had and have their own secrets. Is it worth revealing them? Alexander Vasiliev argues that it is worth it, and that behind the success of European fashion houses there are many secrets.
The stories of life and success of Christian Dior, Coco Chanel, Gianni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and other couturiers are unusual and bright. "Secrets of fashion houses" is a story about how the great couturiers created fashion and what is happening in it now. They were first and foremost people of art, and only then — merchants. And what is happening now? What is behind the intrigues and myths surrounding the names of great fashion designers? And why do the great become and remain great? Religion, politics, sexuality, nationality, climate — important components of the development of fashion as a mirror of history. What is dress code and power in fashion? And what is the style of the European emancipated woman — is it a compliment? Where does fashion come from and where does the love of fashion come from? And what is fearsome competition and heavy production (is this also fashion)?
