AIGEL — electronic, indie-pop, hip-hop, trip-hop, psychedelic.
The electronic duo AIGEL was founded in 2016 by Tatar singer-songwriter Aigel Gaisina from Kazan (Tatarstan) and music producer Ilya Baramiia from Saint Petersburg. After the full-scale invasion in 2022, the band made an anti-war statement, was banned in Russia, and left the country. Currently, Aigel Gaisina is based in Berlin, while Ilya Baramiia resides in Montenegro. The duo creates and performs in Russian, Tatar, and English.
The band’s debut album, "1190", was released in 2017, addressing issues of judgment and the prison system in Russia. The album received significant attention in the country. In the same year, AIGEL performed on the late-night show "Evening Urgant" on Channel One, Russia’s main TV channel. The song "Tatarin" from this album went viral, with its music video getting over 130 million views on YouTube and winning at the Berlin Music Video Awards.
The music video for the song "You're Born" was released two days after Putin’s presidential terms were "zeroed out" in 2020, giving him the opportunity to extend his presidency for two more terms. The video depicts an elderly figure of authority becoming young through a Christian ritual of diving into an ice-hole. The video was considered prophetic and gained significant media attention, earning the Silver Lion at the Cannes Lions festival and winning over 15 awards at festivals worldwide, including the Berlin Music Video Awards.
In autumn 2023, the band’s song "Piyala", written in the Tatar language, reached the top spot on the global Shazam chart, as well as first places on the Apple Music and Spotify Top 100 charts in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan. It also ranked 11th on the Billboard TikTok Top 100. The music video for "Piyala" amassed 54 million views within four months. The song went viral and was translated into multiple languages by people worldwide. Many individuals representing indigenous minorities, whose heritage languages are endangered, translated the song into their native languages, highlighting the multicultural and multilingual beauty of the world and raising awareness of language loss.

From 2017 to 2024, the band produced over 30 music releases, including 5 longplays, and released 11 music videos, 8 of which got over a million views, with 2 going viral.

In the spring of 2025, AIGEL will embark on an extensive tour across more than 30 cities in Europe and America, presenting new material as well as the best hits from their eight-year history. The tour will showcase their upcoming album, featuring songs not only in Russian, Tatar, and English, but also in German. The band will also introduce exclusive merchandise, including vinyl records and pendants, specially created for the tour.

Each concert will be preceded by a Special live set from Ilya Baramiia, the member of AIGEL, known as one of the pioneers of electronic music in the CIS region and one of Russia’s most prominent music producers for over 25 years.
